One of our neighbors, we don't have many where we are, had a massive heart attack last night and died. He was only 46. The EMT's worked on him for 20 minutes, so I'm told, but couldn't revive him.

So, enjoy life, because you don't know when it will end.

Not looking for any sympathy, we were neighbors but not really friends.

Thanks for the reminder. I know our lives have been wayyy to hectic recently. We will make the time to just relax!!

Gerryr I know what you mean. I will be celebrating two birthdays from now on. On will be the one that I always had (28/07/57) and the new one is my rebirthday ( 17/08/2008) That was the day I had my heart attack and was only saved by the skill of the hospital.

You never know what is around the corner

... so, you had a heart attack or you are scheduling one for August 17th?;)

Glad they were able to bring you back. God wasn't finished yet:)

It's not only the fear of an early death that should cause us to slow down, but just the thought of what you could be missing day-by-day. My wife and I have always tried to keep plenty of open family time as well as alone time and felt like we did a pretty good job at it, but we recently took a weeklong trip to the Mexican Caribbean without the kids for our 15th anniversary. All we did was lay under a grass hut and listen to the waves, read a lot and talk to each other. It was amazing how much we had to say to each other which showed us that we don't spend as much down-time together as we thought we do. It was a reminder to us how fast time can move and how easy it is to take for granted not only each other's company but the kids as well. Time spent in the same house is not the same as time spent together.

Take time out once and a while to get away and really slow down. It really does change your perspective on things.

I spend as much time with my granddaughters as I can. I love them dearly and they grow up so fast. Soon they will be teenagers and won't have as much time for Grammie and Papa.
