How many people live within a comfortable drive of Tacoma? There has been some question of starting a local chapter that way and I am looking to see who lives out that way and may be interested. Please either post here or send me a PM if that includes you. Thank you

I"m not too far away. I might make it. Been meaning to do the same thing, but didn't want the responsibility for the arrangements. Too much going on.

I'm not too far, I'm also not sure what goes on at these meetings :bananen_smilies046::banana::bananen_smilies104::RockOn::bananen_smilies027::bananen_smilies046::bananen_:bananen_smilies026: What are the responsibilities and advantages to forming a chapter? I like the idea. could somebody give us all the juicy details.

so when I lived down south....
we usually met at a member's shop or sometimes at Woodcraft.
we would all bring samples of what we made, wood to trade etc.
we would have a demo of something like CA Finish, photography, casting, bowl turning, what ever the group wanted.
If we met at a home, we would bring a salad to share, and someone would grill up some burgers and dogs, everyone usually brought a 6 pack of non-alcholoic drinks. Alcohol and power tools don't mix.
we would start around 11:00 ish and finish up by 3 or 4 ish.
I think Ken still offers some freebies to quarterly chapter meetings. (Need to check my notes)
so all we would need is a place to host this, vote for a leader to be the chapter rep
and get together for a fun afternoon/day.
I live in Lake Stevens and my shop is still mostly moving boxes, along with most of the house, so unfortunately at this time, I can't host a meeting. (SWMBO would kill me).
An opportunity to get together, share tips and tricks, puts names with faces, talk shop and have fun.
