It has been a bit too cold to work in my shop so I ask SUW if I could stick my lathe in the kitchen. She said that she would help as she knew just were to stick my lathe. So as I stand here typing this [:0]

I made the mistake of processing some deer meet in the kitchen. Sure, I got a little blood on the counter (and the cabinets, floor, refrigerator, stove, a couple chairs, etc), but I cleaned it all up (or most of it anyway). Can't understand why she was so upset! [:0][B)]

Tom, Maybe we should refine your approach. Basically you have to explaine every benefit there is to her. Much easier to get you to come in for dinner on time, more room in the garage for the car, The floor already has sawdust applied in case you get the sudden urge to dance with her etc. and never ever mention that this has any plus side for you, total and utter sacrafice on your part. Humiliating really but your ego will take the blow for her sake. Now try again.

I got vetoed setting up in our utility room that has commercial tile that can be easily cleaned. It has a place in the cold garage, like an abandoned animal. For only a few cents a day you can give this lathe fresh grease and three square meals of wood shavings a day.... :D

Suggestion: tell her you are going to have to insulate and heat the garage at a cost of .....

Perhaps then she will be a tad bit more understanding.

Of course our garage/shop is heated and insulated .. we did it that way when we built the house .. Priorities ;)

First you need a wife that is as much of a shop rat as you are.

Linda's eyes light up when we pull up to Rockler. We shop together!
