Back from the hospital after round 1. I will be going back in on Oct. 22nd and will be ICU for a few days. They are going to do the repair of the aneurysm on that day. Due to its location they are going to have to use a couple of options. They will be using stints and coils. They did say I may have to come back if they don't like the way it looks so they can do some touch up work.

They have elected at this time not to open my cranium to fix it. They said the chance was to high I may bleed out before they can complete the repair. So hopefully the first option takes care of it. Yesterday was a bad day, but today is a little better just sore and feeling kind of dopey. Being awake for the procedure is not real fun, but you do what you have to. Having some blood pressure problems. When they started the procedure mine went to 152 over 144. They are not caring for that to much so I have to start taking blood pressure medicine and some blood thinners so I don't clot during the next surgery.

To top it off after I got home last night I was sitting in the recliner watching my daughter coming down the road getting ready to pull in and as she made her left turn to pull into the drive a car tried to pass on the left and struck her in the drivers side. She is fine just a little upset since the car is brand new.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Dustin, thanks for the update. I'm glad they decided to avoid open surgery. The Circle of Willis is nothing to mess with!!!

Please keep us up to date. We are your family and we care about you.

Dustin,
You are in my prayers, hang in there.
If there is anything I can do for you, don't hesitate to let me know.
Take care of yourself!

Ditto on everything said. Keep that blood pressure down. I know how the mind works when going into major surgery, but keep in mind these Doctors can do wonders. Thanks for posting & we want to hear from you thru this whole thing.

Glad that part one is over. The coils and stints work really well. I hope that your blood pressure resolves itself. Don't forget to breathe. It is really easy to forget when you are anxious and it makes your blood pressure rise. Breath is slowly through your nose, then exhale slowly through your mouth, making a circle with your mouth like you do when blowing bubbles. Do this type of breathing slowly throughout your day and especially whenever you get anxious or nervous. It really works and does help with tension and anxiety. My thoughts are with you during this next phase. May you and your family be blessed.
