I, along with Bobby, appreciate the many expressions of concern and prayers offered up. I had my knee replacement yesterday morning. Everything went fine but I had a reaction to the spinal anesthetic. Gave me feeling of being lightheaded; not dizzy but like I hadn't any sleep in days. So they kept me overnight for safety's sake for falling, maybe passing out. They started PT last night but I couldn't handle it. Got it this morning, walked to the PT room and climbed stairs, up and down. That got the ball rolling for discharge. Got home about AM.
Real PT starts tomorrow morning. Many say it's rough at first but gets better as it goes along. I have a a series of exercises to do at home under the supervision of Dr. Wife. One described it as the Spanish Inquisition.

Awesome John. Glad you're home. Sounds like it mostly went well. I'm still in the hospital trying to pee. Lol I'm hoping all is ok as I've been drinking a bunch of water, but no luck. Looks like they're gonna have to scan my bladder to see of it's just dried up. Lol Good luck with your PT.

Yes it is a bit rough but...clamp your teeth together and get it done. You'll be glad for it in 6 months. Trust me I know but just grind through the PT.

Hey Bobby. They can give you a shot that will help. I had the same problem with knee #1. They gave me something in my IV and the flood gates opened. Just be careful getting in and out of bed, no falling. And be careful at home too.

We solved the problem about a half hr. ago. Not pretty, but I hadn't had a bowel movement in 3 days. That fixed the problem. Nurse thanked me for googling solutions. Lol

Glad you pulled through the scare of the anesthetic. It can be scary, but usually the doctors caution is the real source of stress. Wish you all in pt and may you be skipping along soon.

Had both of mine done in 2015 at same time. 9 years later I have mostly forgotten the PT and am very happy I had it done. My wife did the same 2 years ago. I do remember the pain before the surgery. My left was bone on bone for 13 years before the surgery.
Just grit your teeth and do what they say.

Mike

Again, many thanks to all for your concern and prayers. Had my first PT this morning and the therapist was very pleased how my flex was- 80 degrees with a goal of 90. Told him I was under the supervision of Doctor Wife.
Dr Wife will have NO MERCY so you'll certainly get the exercises done !

Glad you're both progressing guys. Should both be back turning by Christmas ( SWMBO permitting of course - but she will be sick of the sight of you by then šŸ˜‰)
