My wood stock that is...but on our way to church tonight I spotted some wood that they cleared at the chuch premisses. I looked and there are lots of Casuarina burl (aka she-oak, sheoak, beefwood, Australian pine, Polynesian ironwood, Horsetail tree, agoho)!!! BUT the best ones are rotten already [V]. I did manage to get one burled figure but nothing close to the rotten pieces.

I also got a long but slender piece of mulberry. It is about 3" dia x 7 feet and I had to cut it (yes I always have a machete and an axe in my car :D). First time I saw this wood and it looks good! Heartwood is different shades of yellowish-brown and sap is yellow.

By the way...the wood were collected where LOML and I got married [^]...San Jose Mission Church (I did get permission).

Dario,
A local here gave me a board about 3/4 x 6 x 36 inches.. he said he was told it was golpher wood, but really thought it was Mulberry.. nice yellow brown color inside .. kinda like dijon mustard. Made a number of nice pen blanks... and I cut a couple of mulberry saplings last summer.. waiting for them to season.. it's nice wood to work with. Good on you.

I don't carry machete or axe in my car or truck, but think I may start.. good idea![8D]

I milled the mulberry yesterday and they looked great! I'll snap a pic of some of my favorite pieces and post tonight [:D]
