I believe there are Canadians here that do not frequent the other forums and not to take away from the other support effort going on I thought I would mention a challenge in progress on another forum.

This one has a little twist, a letter of support must accompany each pen sent.

Having spent 10 years in the Canadian Air Force in the 60's a time when you almost didn't want to let people know you were in the military I know how much a little sign of appreciation and support from home means.

If you are thinking of making a pen for either do it, I know the men and women of both countries that are putting their lives at risk for our freedoms deserve it and will appreciate it.

I'm getting involved with it in a little different way Rick.. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Canada (PHWFFC) is an organization originally started in the States and now has a division in Canada (thus the "C" added) that was set up to assist in the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers returning home. The project donates fly rods and all gear required, including fly tying equipment, fly fishing lessons etc. to assist the returning veterens with their rehab. The organization is based on volunteers who will donate time and products to take them out fishing and show them the basics of the sport. I am currently building a donation fly rod for them for auction, as well I have offered to rebuild any old flyrods people are willing to donate to the organization. I will install new grips, reel seats, guides etc. whatever is needed to make the rods look new again. I think the pen idea with a letter is an excellent idea.

Looking for a small piece of Pompeii Red Corian

With respect to this thread, I am attempting to turn a Cigar BP pen and matching Mach III razor handle for our peacekeepers from Corian.

Here's a pic of my 1st pair in Cobalt.

I have another razor handle turned in Pompeii Red, and I have a small piece of 1/2" th. left over 1 1/8" X 5". I am hoping to get a piece the same size that I can glue up for the matching cigar pen.

I would be most appreciative if you can help out in this regard. Of course, any and all expense is on me!
