OK another Super Bowl in the books. Just for a talking point what did you think of it if you watched. My thoughts are Way too expensive in all aspects of the game. Commercials just are not good any more. I was switching out of them so that $7 million did nothing for me. Did not want to see that Temu commercial there. Other controversial ads too. I thought Reba did a FANTASTIC job with National Anthem. Americas Anthem. ( you know where I am going). Can that guy get a few more face Tats ? WHY I ask Why?

As far as the game, I had no dog in the fight but wanted to see an entertaining game and not be over in the first quarter and that is what we got. Very good game. I would have liked to see the 49'ers win but not losing any sleep over it. They left it all out on the field. We are probably watching the next Tom Brady with Mahomes. Refs for the most part stayed out of it. It did not start that way but there were some missed calls throughout the game but it was OK. I am not a Taylor Swift fan so no interest in that story line. OK lets bring on the boys of summer.

Well being a Cowboys fan since growing up, I didn't care for either team. My mom lives in Calif. so I did hope the 49'ers would have won. KC is a good team but I grew bitter of them this season solely because of all the swifty and kelce drama. It was a good game tho'. If it wasn't for a blocked PAT, the niners could have taken it home. I'm with you also as the commercials weren't as good as the hype. Reba did a great job on the anthem and as far as halftime shows in the NFL, I have no desire to watch any of them. I can also see the NFL going down a rabbit hole in years to come. Games televised on pay channels and too much politics getting involved. I'm losing my desire to continue watching as each season goes by.

Where I live there is not much coverage of the Super Bowl...except the BBC reported a lot on Taylor Swift and her line with one of the footballers. Absolutely riveting!!!!!! Not.
I didnt know who won until reading this thread.

I watched the first and last quarters of the game. I started watching at the kick off. As mentioned earlier getting turned off football and baseball because of politics. Growing up in Texas I've always liked the Cowboys. Mahomes is a Texas Boy so was pulling for the Chiefs. It was a game played like a Super Bowl should have been. Very exciting to watch. I'm not a Swift fan so I thought all that was a little overboard. I did see something a little humorous though.

We had sat down in the hotel restaurant on the south side of Houston in time to watch the last few minutes of the game. Enjoyed that and saw we likely missed a good one. Seemed. There were around 15 people there and all but 2 were pulling for KC. That couple was sitting behind my wife and they were stunned with the final play.

Enjoyed what we saw of it! šŸ˜

I had Chiefs season tix for a while when I lived in KC. This was during the Matt Cassel years when they were mediocre. I gave up on football about 15 years ago when we learned how pervasive CTE is. Sucked all the enjoyment out of it for me.

I find all the angst expressed by folks due to Taylor Swift entertaining. It isn't her fault the TV cameras switched to her every few minutes. She was there like everyone else, to enjoy the game and cheer on her favorite team.

The Super Bowl is good for the economy due to ad sales, food sales, and all the accompanying commerce involved. I'm all for it.

I was surprised Post Malone sang so well with that mouth full of metal. I think there were a few empty spots he could squeeze in some more tats. Lol

My team wasn't there but the game was entertaining. I was also hoping for the 49ers. It's sad how a fluke like the kickoff hitting the 49ers heel and recovered by KC changed the entire pace of the game. Up until the last quarter I thought the 49ers were overall outplaying KC. I'm not a Swift fan either so I don't get the big deal, but I don't put singers or actors on pedestals. They're just good at their job ā€¦ I've known many people like that in everyday life.

Well being from the Bay Area and a life long 49er fan (my dad even worked for the 49ers back in the 50s and 60s) it was a nail biter. Tough loss but an overall great game between two great teams. I'm very proud of the Niners. My hat is off to Kansas City and what they accomplished. They earned this win.

As for everything else (the commercials, the over priced tickets, and all the hype), it is really getting out of hand. I'm ok with the halftime shows, but everything else should be toned down. That's just my opinion.

Interesting comments. Good to know I'm not alone in the way I think. About this anyway!! I've never cheered on the 49ers, and a few other teams, because of the stiff competition between them and the Cowboys. The one thing that sticks in my mind is that when Joe Montana was playing they were never out of the game. They'd be behind the whole time and he'd come back and win in the last few minutes. I remember fans holding up signs to run the "Two Minute Drill" the whole game. Those were the times I truly enjoyed watching football.

did not really watch it. My wife is a 49ers fan, so she was glued to the TV. Reba did a GREAT job with the National Anthem. As I was listening seemed everyone was too busy looking for Taylor what's her name. watched the Temu commercial and none other after that mess. Yeah; not a foot ball fan. My favorite sport starts March 2 the Iditarod.

There was a small family gathering for the SB. I was forced to sit through the BS that accompanies the game. I left before the game as I had to give our puppies their medicine.
FWIW, as a veteran, I quit watching pro football years ago when the players knelt for the real national anthem.

I'm really not a big sports fan, but I usually watch the Superbowl. Maybe Buffalo will get back there one of these years.
Post Malone... never heard of him. I try not to judge by looks, but I just don't get it. Anyway, he sang OK.
Reba... Great job! I love Reba anyway. She's hands down one of the best performers I've seen in concert, especially back in the 80s and early 90s.
The game was great, definitely not boring. Whoever makes the least mistakes usually wins.
Commercials... meh. They used to be better, but then so did our society in general. Everything is dumbed down. The most memorable one for me was the washing of the feet. Anheuser Busch still does a touching commercial every year, but even they don't hit quite like they used to.
Half-time what?

I was more interested in the scores as they related to our Football pool. I had KC with a "3" - which could be a 3 or 13 or 23. I had SF for 7 or 4 - so I was rooting a lot for either team to score a TD, then screaming for a field goal. None of my yelling seemed to make a difference, so I mailed out a nice box of blanks yesterday to IAP. Well worth it.

I did like some of the commercials. Especially Ahnold S. for State Fahm. Like a good neighbaah....

it was a great game, I am a lifetime CHIEFS FAN, but yesterday after the parade the shooting 1 dead, 20+HURT INCLUDING 9 KIDS this has to stop 4o+ mass shootings this year already

I agree. It's sad for people to have to face these incidents now more than ever. However, the statistics for mass shootings has been changed by this current administration. Any shooting that fatally injures or injures more than one person, be it by, domestic violence, gang related, crime related, etc.. is now considered a mass shooting. These statistics are being used now to slowly take away your 2nd amendment rights.

It seems that laws are in place that prevent such incidents. However, no one pays any attention to them. No bail? There was a time criminals were dealt with in a rapid and definite manner. During the settling of the West, the hemp rope business was booming. J. Edgar Hoover said there is something wrong with a system that the criminal is out of jail before the victim is out of the hospital.
