suggestions for grinding down

I am looking for an easier way to grind down the thickness of a "hat or lapel pin". The pen I made with one cast in it I did with a dremel but I am looking for a more economical way to do it. Also to not damage it.

Anyone have some suggestions?

Tom,
How about using double sided tape and attach it to a dowl then use a belt or disk sander. I would think that you could get a pretty even pin when your done.
