I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around this casting idea and I have tried searching this forum and also the web for examples but have a hard time choosing the right words for a search.. So I am looking for some more help and examples of pens that are 2 parts(cap and bottom barrel) weather fountain or rollerball that has castings in both parts that are directional. Weather it be decals, watch dials or any other item. If I see examples it will help me visualize things easier. I want to make various watch part pens that will have dials in both halves of the pen along with other items that have a top and bottom. Right now I am leaning toward having all items with the bottoms pointing toward center band. This way when a user has pen in hand the items are facing correctly and they can stand the cap up and that too has items facing correctly. I just need to see some examples of this way or other ways. Thanks for being patient with me on this. I have asked this a couple times already but this time I need to see some pens. Here is the last thread I started on this and in the diagram you will see what I am talking about. In the diagram I am leaning for "C".

Take a look at the various, commercially available laser inlay kits. All are "right side up" reference to the pocket clip regardless of 1 piece or 2 piece. I used the link for example images. So would go along with "A" in your link.

Does this help?

Sorry but no. Those are all single barrel pens. I am looking for pens that are 2 barrels and are capped. You take the cap off to write with it. The photos in that linked are suppose to represent a 2 barrel pen with a centerband. The nib is not seen.

I know what a capped rollerbal is AND how it works. There are Jr rollerball & Baron examples in the mix along with the Sierras unless I copied the wrong link. Same applies. Capped end is shown as top or up... you know, as if in clipped to your shirt pocket

I would lean towards the "B" illustration as it is more Uni positional. No matter where the cap is positioned (covering the tip or on back end) the decals are still easily readable.

The link Rixstix provided shows two piece pens (mainly flag pens) and they are as I describe. No matter which end the "cap" is on the pen still displays as it is intended. Non positional.
