Getting better!! The center strip of blanks are the new attempt

This batch is from my attempt 10 days ago and I stopped to order and replenish the oil. Please read that thread for the history of that event.
Here, this is 1/2 bottle alumilite dye in stabilizing resin. Vacuum for 1 1/2 hrs before the pump made too much noise. Soaked for about 10 days while waiting for oil and medical issues to get by. Vacuum yesterday for about 9 hours, bubbles pretty much done by then. Soaked again over night and oven at 200 d for 6 hours today. Stabilized well, I think that I have good penetration. The 7 blanks were 7.3 ounces before process and 10.2 ounces after baking.
The bottom piece is pecan from the first effort, no color, so at least this time more color. The top piece is maple from the first effort. Better blue in the new ones, not as much as I hoped (LOOKING FOR A ROYAL BLUE); but, the blue is in the curly maple shine on these.

So, the big question, is this what the dyed in stabilizing resin and vacuum are supposed to look like?
