My son used his 3D printer to make some base shapes. The ones shown are printed with a 7mm center hole so that no drilling is needed - just glue in tube. I put the red one in a 3/4" tube mold with alumilite slow. Turned easily. My wife calls it the "clown pen" as it reminds her of the circus!

My son also printed a Gisi style blank that I have drilled for an Executive pen kit. The next one that he prints of this style will incorporate a centered opening that will be fit for a 3/8" tube (or custom made with other sizes depending on the kit to be used). This will not only eliminate drilling, it will ensure perfect centering.

He has a plan to make other shapes that I can turn into interesting pens. Now I am tasked with getting better with color/casting combinations.

What an Idea. I haven't tried any of these but in the back of my mind I'm thinking about the drilling. I see you have eliminated that concern.

That was my print. I have an idea for some others.

I downloaded original gitsi style mold from thingverse and printed it.

But I designed and printed these.

Yes. The shapes are silly. Just playing around and trying different ideas.

I'd be happy to share the files if anyone wants to play around with them.

How does the PLA turn?
PLA and PETG appear to turn the same. Pretty smooth when you use a sharp tool.

I recommend increasing number of walls and making sure the nozzle is close enough to the bed so that the 1st layer lines do not have a gap, like of these first attempts (the blue and white one).

I think the red and one stripes turned out pretty decent.

My father was the one who poured and turned these, I just printed them. :)

You have no idea how happy I am to find out that I'm not the only person who uses Tinkercad....

But do you use Fusion360? I do and it's rare to find 3d printed pens. I am trying to print a pen using a pilot MR nib section but finding the right thread section is hard. Here is a render I have of a pen that later was a failure. Sorry for how weirdly this formatted I am still getting used to IAP

Nope. No idea how to use Fusion 360 or Sketchup, or anything other than Tinkercad
