Well, I was thrilled when I received a package full of good stuff Friday. Pen kits, bushings and bits. I got up, poured a big cup of coffee and went to the garage. I was fired up on making my first Navigator pen. I opened the bushings and the last one fell out into the Twilight Zone. I can't find it to save my life! Fortunately, there is a Woodcraft store several miles away. Bummer, I just wanted nake a Navigator today!

You are in LUCK! The Navigator uses two identical top and two identical bottom bushings. Find out which is missing (top or bottom) and use the calipers on the remaining one. You can make a mate out of corian, wood, aluminum, delrin or just about anything laying around the shop!

This will help you increase your skills and I'll bet you can make the bushing quicker than you can get to Woodcraft and back, it really is a simple thing to do!

Gary, we were posting the exact thing at the exact time! We'll either both have good (or bad) Karma today. You spell better than me:) Personally, I am on a "really good" roll today, too.

Thanks guys. I really do need to further my skills on making bushings. That is something else to put on the agenda.

Heh, and I need to get out to the shop. Finished my last cup of lazy coffee and headed out.
Fire up that lathe and make a bushing; it's really quite simple and you'll have your pen done in no time.
Enjoy.

I'm chomping at the bit to hit the lathe. I haven't turned a thing on my new (to me) Delta 46-700. I was too busy replacing the reeves pulley assembly, dialing it in, then moved on to building the tablesaw.

Today I'm at work (IT for a church) so can't. Man, it's killing me!

I use 17-4 for my bushings....I am a cnc machinist so it is easy for me to just make one......

:present::present:OK, it is official, NIKITAS, Brian, makes bushings. Get your orders in right here! :present::present:

I guess they would be free since he didn't state otherwise. We should really pay for the shipping though and maybe a dollar or so for his time and effort (since he makes one) or efforts (if he makes two or more.)

Thanks Brian, for the heads up on the bushings! What a great guy!

Woodcraft Bushings

I would avoid Woodcraft bushings like the plague. I have yet to find one that is true. Buy your bushings from JohnnyCNC at Penturners Products, they are always perfect.
