I agree -- I thoroughly enjoyed it. When the DVD came, I watched it twice (but mostly because I'm an old fart with bad hearing and I didn't catch all the dialogue the first time around).

Saw the movie and liked it alot. Just heard on the news that there has been a lost and never seen before episode of the original Star Trek series found and released on DVD

I thought it was just about as good as they could make it. It pays homage to the old series, but doesn't ignore it in the way events occur.

I saw it twice in theaters (once was budget), and I bought the Blu-Ray when it came out. It's supposed to be really good quality picture/ sound. I can't say yet- as I haven't had time to watch all the way through, and at the sound level I want to!

I liked it.. it was pretty funny. Kinda cool how they tied some things in together.
Of course they had to do a 'reset'. If they're not blowing up the Enterprise, they're
screwing around with the timeline..

I mostly liked it, but didn't care for the alternate universe gimmick that gives them an excuse to do anything. I also thought one of the relationships (names omitted to protect those that haven't seen it) was an odd departure from the old series...

I thought the young James Tiberius Kirk was a odd change from the staunch authoritarian he became, Spock was still COOOOOOL and Uhura was WOW. I liked the series Uhura better though, can you tell I like Uhura. I really do, I think all the others except She and Spock were just supporting actors IMHO

Well, we got to find out her first name..still don't know Spock's

Star Trek .. starring Zoe Saldaña as Nyota Uhura.. and .. you know, the rest of those guys.

I liked it mostly too. But I hope JJ Abrams knows when to pass the baton. He is great with 1 or 2, but when you get past that, well it becomes like the same.

I hate to show my ignorance in this regard - especially considering I think of myself as a true Star Trek fan. What is the name of the new Star Trek movie????

Didn't like it at all. I was bored to distraction after the first 30 minutes. I kept expecting, well, something other than what it was. The only character that remotely seemed to actually want to be part of the Enterprise was Scotty.
