I have a Maple burl that has some spalting and pecky/soft (not voids) places. The piece is approximately 4" x 8" x 9".

I would like to cut it into blanks for pens and shaving brushes.

What could I expect to pay for stabilizing these? Is there a general rule to estimate this costs?

Thank you.

I would do it for $1.30 per blank regardless of how many you have. Shipping is extra.($4.80) Weight increase of a blank could be as much as 250%

Constant,

Does the size of the blank change the stabilization? How does the size and shape of the blank effect your price. I would like to cut this in to pen blanks (1" x 1" x 6") and brush blanks (2" x 2" x 3"). Sizes may be +/- a fraction in any direction.

Thanks you.

That would be the same price. Those would have the same volume and therefor absorb the same amount of resin.

Thanks.

I will try to get this cut into blanks. I will PM you when I have it to see when you can work it in.

I am in Marietta on business regularly. Would it be possible for me to sneak in and visit your shop some time?
