I've got some big leaf maple burl I was going to try my hand at stabilizing, but I was hoping to add some dye to get a decent maroon color for a Texas A&M themed pen. Does anyone have any experience or ideas for colors/portions to mix to try and get a nice maroon color into the final product?

According to a Zac Higgns of NVwoodworks video its one small bottle of Alumilte dye to a Half gallon of Cactus Juice. This info came from Curtis at Turn Tex.

I would try some scraps before I committed to your real blanks since this is probably just a starting point.
