I just received several blanks that are manzanita burls They seem to look non stable. I'm thinking about taking the best blanks and having them stabilized? Any comments please.

It can be expensive but I think it is worth it. I am currently buying the equipment so that I can do it myself. I keep telling myself that it is to save money in the long run, but I know it will just lead to new ways to spend money on something fun.

I have had some success using Slimar 41 cut by 60% with acetone. Let soak for 3 days, then remove and let dry for a week or so. Turns like a dream.
