Hi,

Looking for advice on the best way to stabilize buckeye burl and other like woods. I have used Smiths CPES on an oak door and it came out great. Is teh process the same for blanks?
Heard about Minwax high performance wood hardener. Would that alos be a way?

Thanks

Allan

https://www.turntex.com/ has a great stabilizing system.

Also, you may consider that with some buckeye burl you can get buy without stabilizing it, just turn gently.
Another option would be to apply thin ca, let it dry, then turn a millimeter or so off, then apply another coat of ca, repeat until you are at the desired size.
