I've been so busy at work that I'm too tired to do anything right now..so I was just poking around on the internet relaxing.

If you too just want to browse around, check out this site.

It is amazing. I can't afford to spin cast, and I would imagine most or all of us can't, but seeing and reading about it sure is interesting. You can make 10,000 pen blanks an hour in just one of these little machines. I kinda understand the principle of it all, the spinning and the speed create the pressure by centrifugal force. What I don't really follow is the metal products. It looks to me from what I see, that you could create your own M3 Mokume blanks with those products. No wonder those blanks are so expensive to buy.

I have a centrifugal casting machine, it can hold 20 OZ of molten Silver, in 30 years I've only blown out two flasks, one had 18 Oz of 10Kt Gold, we recovered almost 16 OZ the rest is embedded in a cinderblock wall. that's why some one made fire extinguishers.
Never thought about trying to cast any resins with it though

When you follow that link that center machine looks very familiar.

Go to laundry room and look next to the dryer, Your wives wont mind

If you lost 2 oz of gold today, you would be hurting! If I had a machine like this, I'd try it, but the darn things have a starting point near 10 grand. I wonder how their products set up in 2 minutes. You have to mix like a tazmanian devil.

I've had some experience with centrifical casting machines for casting reproductions of old coins, small figurines and replica buttons but I've never thought about using one for pen making. Are you thinking about casting small metal parts like center bands and clips?

Not me Gerry. If I was going to spend that much money, I'd just buy a CNC and some metal rods and let the computer do all the work. I just stumbled on the spin casting stuff and thought it was really interesting to read about. I saw some really cool products they sell too, but the min quantities are too large and expensive for me too.
