what a great place this is. In the few years that I've been a member here I've made a number of friends. Some we e-mail each other and bitch and moan and send jokes and even discuss politics, some we call each other at least weekly some between e-mails we call yearly. Each and every one I consider friends. And then something happens like today, I get off the phone with one of the members that I talk to often and walk outside to get my mail and in it is an envelope with a very special blank made by a member that I've had very little contact with except posting on each other threads at times and doing my part to help those that help us(he will know what I'm saying). So to all of you in IAP cyperspace remember this is one big family that at times will disagree, argue and sometimes get on each others nerves but in the end most remain as family. Thank you IAP.....We are now celebration our 6th birthday and I know the support for the bash will be the best ever....

Is there a write up somewhere that tells a story on how this site first got started and who the founding fathers are??? I thought I read this somewhere or was I daydreaming again and again and again and again. What was I saying???:eek:

This is one of the best sites on the net and the sharing is unbelievable. Glad I found it for sure.
 
A little bit of IAP history

Founded by Scott Greaves and Jeff Brown back in December 2003. The site was officially launched on January 1, 2004. The site is owned and maintained by Jeff Brown.

Mission statement was developed in the Spring of 2005. Terms of service and other "official" documents were created in 2004 and 2005. These have been updated as needed.

The first contest was a pen and stand contest, which started in the summer of 2005.

The first Bash was held in January 2005, as was the first "Pen-in-the-Hat".

The Library was started in 2004. Video was added in 2006.

The site has never accepted commercial advertising to pay the bills. The membership began funding the operation during the first Bash. That's the reason behind the donation drawing each year.

Old-timers who are still around on a regular basis since 2004: Jeff Brown, Scott Greaves, Russ Fairfield, Ed Davidson, Tony Turchetta, Daniel Yourdon, Gary Max, Lou Metcalf and others.
 
You know what's great... that even though there is a "core" group of guys that have been around "a while", they don't act like it at all. I have been on other sites where the inside jokes run wild and you don't feel like part of the site at all. But that's not the case here. I don't post a ton, but I still feel like part of the group.

Big thanks to EVERYONE (new and old) that make this such a great site, and freely share their experiences and advice!!!
 
We only have ONE LARGE "inside joke".

We call him "pink uni", he would be CAV to everyone else.

When I came here, he was "the revered William", but we fixed that!!
