Well I ordered a few kits from Dawn & Ed felt they were a fair price and I needed some.
So exactly 48 hours later they show up on my door with a hand written note apologizing for not sending more "freebies"
First of all they included two acrylic blanks & the bushing for free...

I know Dawn and Ed are not the only ones who throw in "freebies" and many others on THIS SITE do also but think about other vendors, stores, etc where you do daily business they don't do this..Do they?
I just think many companies could learn from some of the small vendors we have here on IAP. I know Ed says he has a real job
But still this has to help them in thier business and it is just amazing to me how thoughtful and customer focused everyone on here is....

Anyhow THANKS YOU TWO!!! And I will be BACK!!!!

I would have to agree, it does make me more inclined to purchase from one who has taken a second to toss in a thoughtful extra. Don't know what it does to the bottom line though. I don't see it as affecting prices, but it could.

It reminds me of buying fireworks when I used to live in Alabama. They would always throw in a little something extra for me! It's always nice to be treated that way.

The timing of this thread could not be better, guys!!

Yesterday we had the "NOYIPEE" special, the response was pretty good size. Now, we have a dilemma. So, when you order, if you WANT to, express your opinions on "freebees" in the "comments" section.

Because of our arrangement with the partners, we cannot discount these products, without operating at a gross loss (not net, gross). So we will be looking for alternatives that make everyone continue to enjoy working with us.

The partner products WILL continue to be available from us. Everyone benefits from the additional "traffic" and the customer can buy from several artists at one stop. This aspect of "exotics" is working VERY well!!! And, as far as I know, our partners are enjoying the extra revenue.

So, thanks for the "thread", we really do ENJOY exotics, most of the time. Sometimes at midnight, when we are still shipping...............we remember we enjoy it, later.

So, keep shopping, we'll (Including our partners) make more!!!

THANK YOU for the past great, first year!!! The second will be even better!!! Keep coming back, we will keep trying to add new products that are "unusual". Deal??

I was looking at my assortment of blanks last night and thinking .... the freebies are just as nice as the ones I painstakingly picked out and ordered. :)

Thanks to Ed and Dawn and the others who give that little extra! It really is appreciated.

I think that the Freebies are great but I would continue shopping there even with out them. Ed and Dawn have done a fabulous job in building a great business. They have a great selection of items, incorporating other people from this site with their outstanding products was a stroke of genius, in my opinion. Their service is as good as it gets, and they are as helpful as they are generous. My hat is off to them.

My thinking is freebies are a feel good thing. I think people feel good dealing with vendors that go that extra mile not only with freebies but good customer service. I have or at least say I had and just stopped last year giving out free pens with my logo on it. I used to get them made up from a company that lazer engraved names and things and of course they were only plastic but I thought pretty nice looking pens. I had to stop that since I now make pens and that would not go over very well so I am looking to get something else to give away. But I had lots of customers comment on that little gesture. Any of the big guns I have ordered from also give freebies and I am guessing this depends on the size of the order too.

Must have been Dawn's marketing plan?

The best freebie I have ever gotten from Exotic Blanks is the conversation and advice I have received from Dawn and Ed. I appreciate their help more than words can ever express. I have talked to them both several times and they have always had patience with me, which is not always easy.
THANKS ED AND DAWN!!!!

Every time my wife sees a box from Racine, she hurriedly opens it and starts pawing through it (a big no-no, because I track and inventory by location all bought blanks and parts).

The LOML has decided that if it says "yippee, freebie", it doesn't count as an "expense, nor is it for business" and she should get it to do with as she pleases. As much as that aggrivates me, she really is fun to watch with the freebies.

Thanks again Ed and Dawn.

Actually, you are correct!! Although we have to agree on the partner, before we will add him/her, but the concept was Dawn's.

Dawn also does all the pictures and text on the site. She and Dean (Alphageek) constructed the site. It is, truly, HER endeavor.

"Freebee-yippee" was me, though. Always finding a way to eat into her bottom line.:biggrin::biggrin:
