I recently finished turning a piece of platypus gum burl from George's Bits-o-Timber for a Berea Sketch Pencil. As I got down to the near final diameter, I noticed a large chunk was taken out down to the tube, along with a couple of other divots. So I used this as an opportunity to learn how to fill gaps with opal/CA and turn them down again. I think it turned out okay.
