I forced some shop time to finish three orders that I had received over the past couple of weeks.
The first is a Bloodwood and African Blackwood Plate. It was made to hold (3) 3" pillar candles. The customer wanted a satin type finish on both this and the candle sticks. I went with the Deft Spray Satin. I am happy with the results on the plate.
These are Red Mallee Burl Candle Sticks. I usually don't even try to make a matched set by hand (eyeball) but did this time. They came out pretty darn close. When they are placed on a table a bit apart from one another, they look the same. I wish she would have wanted these super glossy, but again satin prevailed.
Finally, My sister is a musician and plays all sorts of different things. She requested that I make her some new double sided Hammer Dulcimer Hammers. These are bloodwood, and Bolivian Rosewood. They have strips of felt on one side for the mutes. These were way too much work.
Thanks for looking.
