These are some photographs of the way that I made the ' Knot ' pen that I posted recently. I made the blank up quickly so excuse the rough and ready nature.
There were 4 cuts made with a 25mm hole saw and the kerf filled with 3 layers of veneer.

Yes, indeed !!

If often takes some careful thought to see how the turned end result relates to the starting segmentation !

Oh man, I totally forgot.

I made two Orion fountain pens with the blanks, one in gold, one in chrome. They survived the turning, but they could be better. I learned a lot in the process.
