These are some photographs of the way that I made the ' Knot ' pen that I posted recently. I made the blank up quickly so excuse the rough and ready nature.
There were 4 cuts made with a 25mm hole saw and the kerf filled with 3 layers of veneer.

I really like the way segments of different kind change to magnificent designs when turning the blanks. I love the surprises!

Yes, indeed !!

If often takes some careful thought to see how the turned end result relates to the starting segmentation !
