Software for label printing ??

I have been trying to do a few labels for some test pens.
My problem is with the printing. My printer or the software will not print in the area for the labels. I am using ms word and another label program with the templates for the sheet of labels. Neither work well for what I want to do.

Anyone have label software they like that works with inserted images?
Any suggestions for me? Obviously a "free" download would be better than store bought.

Since Avery labels have been mentioned And I have used it in the past for labels, and for product labels. Avery's free software

I have an older version of the P-touch system it works well for labels mine Uses from 3.5MM to 24MM TAPES it is also a stand alone unit

PC compatible label maker
they are sold at most big box office supplies.
