I just KNOW you all are wondering just that, so let me go ahead and answer.
First we had those lovely blizzards and I inured my hand digging us out. Now I don't know about you guys, but I don't approach power tools when I'm hurt. Too easy to get distracted for the second that it needs to become even more injured.
Then after my hand started feeling better, my honey dropped more honey do stuff on my lap with one of those "this is going to happen NOW" looks. So I went about taking the bathroom apart and the kitchen. I'm still waiting for her to pick a new bathroom faucet so I can finish that little room up. Now she's picking out counters and I'll have to make a new island too.
Oh and I need to gut a column so I can reroute the electric so that is won't interfere with the new flooring that is now in residence in our garage. (need to do this tonight I think). But what was in the garage that was displaced by the flooring is our mower. I hated having it in the garage anyway, so I begged...er... asked......er..... TOLD my wife (yeah that's it) that we need a storage shed for the mower.
We have been looking for one for a while and the cheap ones I liked didn't meet her approval and the ones she liked costed.... well I decided I need both arms and legs more than I need the shed.
Finally we spotted one in Sam's for $800 and she approved it. Now this was when we had 4 foot of snow in the yard and I knew they wouldn't have them in stock long, so I shoveled out my truck bed, and brought it home to live int he garage until I could see the ground.
SO I finally got around to opening the boxes this morning about 10AM. And I know I'm supposed to pour concrete for it, or at least build a platform, but I just picked a flat piece of ground (admittedly it has a slight slope, but it's just a storage building). So, after 5 hours with a 30 minute break, I give you..... The new home of our mower, my folding ladder, and soon to be home to a new grill (yeah, I forgot to mention that I couldn't get the grill until I had the building up, now you see why I was rushing today).
The building is a Lifetime Storage shed, mostly plastic so no maintenance. I'm actually pretty impressed with the sturdiness even with it not quite level. The directions say two people should assemble and I did it myself in about 5 hours, but if you can get someone to help with the front gable and doors, it would have been much easier. It's 8x10 and should be plenty of room for the grill, mower and other stuff I want out of the garage. It has one window that opens and two clear skylights and four translucent ridge skylights. I'll probably put one of the little battery powered punch lights in case I need something when it's dark.
anyway, time to eat something and tackle that column.
Maybe I'll get to play in the shop next month.
