And not just small stuff, biiiggg flakes. It's sticking to cars, roofs and such but not much accumulation on the ground yet as it's been a light rain most of the day.

Got enough snow at my house to build a snowman.....you ever see a 3/4" snowman. Last time it snowed here was 1982. I sure am getting tired of all this nasty weather. You Yankees can keep your snow to yourselves, please.

Yesterday I worked in my shop in shorts and a t-shirt. Today it was sweats and a jacket and I still like to have froze. Only made 1 pen and a cross of driftwood that the church wanted. Both came out good but I will spend all night thawing out.

Got my Secret Santa box today.....some really neat stuff.....corn cobs, cholla cactus, some living color pine and some really pretty figured Walnut. This will keep me busy for a while.

Thanks Tim !!

Ah, come on Tim. Those bad days just do my thing. Run to the shop, turn on the pellet burning heater & get back inside. Wait about 20 min. then it's nice and cosey the rest of the day. Actually turn it off after 20-30 minutes. Will run you out otherwise.

I'm just glad I live up here in the northeast where we don't get snow anymore it seems. Any of you Texans want to buy a plow truck from this yankee?

Current temperature here in Calgary, Alberta is -30 C. With the wind chill it feels like -40 C. -40 C is just about the same as -40 F. Unfortunatelly my shop is in the garage. Even with the heaters going it's too cold : (

We got a bunch of snow, but its melting under todays rain. The worst of it is to come... Tonight at 'sunset' its supposed to be 40 degrees. By tomorrow morning its supposed to be -15 with wind chill... The whole city will be an ice rink.

We have snow out here on the Washington coast this morning. Once it stops the forecast is for 5 days of temps below freezing which is really, really, really unusual for this neck of the woods. Usually this time of year the high is 45 and the low is 40. Us Washingtonians are not good drivers in snow and ice since we seldom see the stuff...

George,
I seem to remember snow in Houston in '90... just around Christmas. I was planning to take Christmas off, so went in early a day or two before to clean up my desk and set up my staff's week.. My ol' Chevy Nova didn't have a heater that year and half way through the airport I ran into rain on top of the snow... had to stop twice to scrape the ice off the windshield before I got to work. I lived in Humble at the time and worked on the other side of the airport. The only people who showed up to work that day came from Montgomery, Spring, Kingwood, Willis, and New Caney. Those who lived withing a mile or so of the office all stayed home... they "couldn't get out of their driveway"... Including the boss.

Well look like winter settler in the States and I feel for the poeple in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine for the snow storm they got now, apparently lots of houses don't have electricity hope they will have it restored before Christmas, all the best my prayes and though for all of you guys.

Mannie please keep the CA out of freezing temperature, will order some next year:biggrin:
