Snakeskin question

Im not so sure my video will help you on this. I could be wrong, but IIRC, the way those skins are tanned is much different and leaves the scales all shiny looking. That being the case, you may not have any scales to scrape off.

I should also add that my skins(when im done tanning them) dont have a leathery appearance. Mine are soft and supple and dont look wet or dark when they either have CA over them or when they are cast. Some snakeskins have been "leather tanned" (for lack of the right terminology) and those are typically the skins i have seen with the shiny surface and leather skin that do this. To me, those are very difficult to make into blanks because of their thickness, but hey, i do things differently since i "tan" mine using a different chemical mix(glycerine/alcohol)
