I tried my second snakeskin blank cast today and I goofed. I think i got the resin to warm trying to get all the bubbles out of it. when i started to pour it itn the mold i got half the blank covered and it gelled enough it wouldnt fill the rest it just layed on top in a big gooey mess. In a moment of panic i dumped out the tube and quick like pulled the gooey mess of the tube but the skin got a very thin layer of PR over half the tube, Is it pretty much trash or can I let what did get on it cure and recast? This is the first thing Ive ever cast the first one looks good so far only a couple small bubbles in it. I dont have any pressure pots or anything just molds and some pr. Thanks for any advice........Andy

yes you can recast right over that, but I will say, if you aren't careful, you may get trapped air, so, with caution everything should be ok. take some pictures of your progress!

thanks Guys when i get the pens turned ill get some pictures up. I was also curious about different ways to cure the blanks, could a guy build a small box from hardboard and line it with foil with a light bulb on the inside kinda like a small dry kiln, or might that be asking for trouble with the fume build up? thanks again..........Andy
