A few years ago there was a member who was looking for snake skins to cast.
I had a couple that I had purchased because I wanted to try my hand at casting, but never got around to it... There was always too much to do and just trying to find time to turn, let alone cast, was a challenge. Anyway, that's not the point...
I have a Prairie Rattlesnake skin about 45" long, 4" wide in the middle & 2" wide at the ends.
If there is someone here who is interested in a collaboration whereby I'll send you the skin to cast and you send me back a few blanks in return, please let me know.
Maybe this arrangement isn't at attractive as it was a few years ago, as I note that casters are getting $50++ for their blanks now, but I won't know if it's out of line unless I ask, right?
So, yeah, if anybody is interested please gimme a shout. Photos below.
