A while back, (March) I believe, I made my first shaving brush as a test sample to see how it would hold up. Well, 9 months later, the head hasn't fallen out and the brush has not lost one little hair. So I figured it past the test and was able to market these with a good feeling.

The brush heads came from David Borick at Blankity, I had them since March, so not sure if he still carries them. They come in 20mm, 24mm & 30mm and in two grades, Select & Premium. All Badger hair and assembled in a sturdy plug.

Thanks for looking and Happy Turkey Day. ( today is a no shave day ) :D

The bottom brush is my test sample, used every day M-F for 9 months, Dego's don't shave on weekends for nobody :D The top one is new. Both are stabalized masur birch with no finish, just sand & buff

How many people know what it is like, to truly write with a fine pen?
This is just another icon in history going by the way side. I will never go back to the foamo in the el cano [:D]

and Frank, what did you do with your old brush ???? [:)]

This ol' Coonass is 45 years old and i've been using a mug and brush since I was 20 years old and i wouldn't even think of going back to foam. I never thought about making shaving brushes, a very good idea.

Kol Tov,
Yaakov, you would definately be a hard sale [:D]

Johhny, I am not even gonna ask about your gutter mind [:p]

Those are really nice Anthony..like the looks of the wood, but thinkin' the plastic may sell better..

..seems they would look nice on a display table and attract a lot of attention...especially for people like myself that use to use one but hasn't in years.. [:)][:)]

<br />One question. What is shaving?????

I only wish my hair aged as well as my cigars!!!!

Come on Ron, I just started shaving my dome this year. I finally exepted the reality, not much is growing up there [)]

Nice work. I like the Bocote but then again that is one of my favorite woods to work with.

I remember my grandfather having a mug and brush but that was 35 or 40 years ago. May have to think about this some more.

Anthony that look good, long time didn't see those litle beauty, now got a question for you you show us 6 shaving brushes but you say you shave M-F what the spare one for ?[:D][:p]

Serge, I couldn't afford to own six brushes, I better sell some of these for Christmas.
Here is the link for the heads, if anybody was interested. Not sure if there in stock.

I really do like the wooden handles you created there Anthony, nice style in a beautiful wood, (and that is one nice suggested price David has on his webpage :)...so I am eating my words from my previous post where I mentioned the four letter word 'plastic', but gotta ask what kind of finish did you use for the handles, and did you use anything to protect the wood from water. Of course, some people will probably buy those just to set on their shelf and look nice[:)]

John, my test brush was stabalized masur birch, no finish, just sand, MM & buff. It has held up great. On the stabalized handles, I do not put a finish. The others Bacote, redwood and amboyna, I put a pretty heavy CA finish and used a 5 min. epoxy for glueing the heads in. Yea, that "plastic" handle is a cool $75.00 the large amboyna is $150.00 [:D]
