A fella at church found out I turn wood and started bringing me stuff. See the picture below. The first week he brought me the bundle of 1 x 1 stuff, and the small board of what he calls philippine mahogany in the middle of all the larger boards standing upright, as well as the 2x2 piece (24-inches long) with the notch cut of it. There is a picture of the grain of the small board by itself.
Then last week he brought me the other pieces standing upright. Several 2-inch thick pieces in various sizes - two mahogany, four clear maple with some nice grain and a number of 5/4 walnut cut offs. he asked if I wanted more - I said he better let me ruin these pieces first.
I made a pen for him from a piece of the nicely grained mahogany, but I can't find it . There has been some redecorating going on here and in the process it has been misplaced. That mahogany get a nice gold colored fleck in it that is hard to describe and that may not photogrph that weel - providing I ever do find the pen.
