I quite like Slimline Pens although sometimes they get bad reviews.Forgo the bushings (use only for mandrel placement, not precision final fit) and use calipers and modified centerbands. I won't hijack your thread, but here's an example: Corian modified centerband slims. These are easier than they appear, after 2-3, they are a fun, simple modification (Credit Don Ward).

I think you need to revise the shape a little but the colours are great. The upturn before the ends doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. Finish is great though and if the tapered shape aids grip and SWMBO is happy then my comments are totally invalid. I repeat my mantra of " if it feels right to you , then it is "
