Forgo the bushings (use only for mandrel placement, not precision final fit) and use calipers and modified centerbands. I won't hijack your thread, but here's an example: Corian modified centerband slims. These are easier than they appear, after 2-3, they are a fun, simple modification (Credit Don Ward).

Mark thanks for that those pens are stunning. I quite like Slimline Pens although sometimes they get bad reviews.

I think you need to revise the shape a little but the colours are great. The upturn before the ends doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. Finish is great though and if the tapered shape aids grip and SWMBO is happy then my comments are totally invalid. I repeat my mantra of " if it feels right to you , then it is "

keep up the inspiring work and photos

I agree with your comments Ian. I was trying to get them thin and I got to enthusiastic. But her indoors is very happy and must say that makes me happy.
Thanks for your comments.

if SWMBO is happy then nothing you, or I can say invalidates that. "If it feels right to you, it is"

I commend your varied and intriguing output.

That's pretty slim. I like the slimlines, just not the way they write. Better for lefties, though, as the paste ink dries faster. See, there is a plus to them. As has already been said, if the recipient is happy, then it's good. If the recipient is happy, and is also your wife, then it's great! :D

For me personally, looking at what you have there, I would agree with Mark about losing the kit center band. The long, gradual taper from the top end of the olive pen is actually really nice. I think mirroring that on the tip end would look pretty good without widening again at the center, unless maybe the band was done as a bead. Either way, an overall hourglass shape might look pretty good.
