I am interested in finding out what it is costing the people that "have" a forum or website per year to run.

I have 9 sites with 5 forums and it is only costing me about 90 dollars a year to run them. That is with no ads, except the "link" banners I have and thought that was high, granted I cheat and use Dragonfly CMS for most of my forum sites. I do have several html sites that don't require forums.

I just have a real simple web site, but its costing me $14.95 for three months of web service and I am going to move my domain name this year. That was 20 bucks last year.
So about $79.80 a year. Lets say $80.00.

The annual cost is a small part of the expense.

More important is the service and reliability of your host provider. If you are haveing no problems then you are getting away cheap.

I am using a Yahoo hosted service, expensive per month, but includes many extras. The hosting cost $12 a month, but includes easy to use software to build the site, extensive page templates and forms, domain name, e-mail, ftp, and more bandwidth and memory than I can use.
I am looking at moving to another host, but I would need $100+ for web publishing software or else learn html.
