Simple 3-D drawing software

I was looking around for something to draw an idea for my next pen design and I came across Google's "Sketchup" 3-D drawing program. Very cool! easy to use. (Don't know how it will work for pen designs yet) but very easy learning curve. And it's free!:biggrin: Go to google and do a search for sketchup and you will find tutorials and a download link.

Yep, Sketckup is definitely a good choice for 3D drawings. Sure beats the devil out of buying a $500 program.

How long does the free Sketchup download last before you have to buy it, or does it? I hesitated downloading this program because they usually only last 30 days. Just curious.

Google sketch up has no time frame I have it on both work and home computers and my work one for 2 years, they do sell a professional version but the free one is great for me. Good Luck Howard

It's also great for really quick 2D drawings as well. And it's very intuitive. The only complaint I have is that it seems to want to snap to endpoints and angles that are exactly the wrong ones I *want* it to snap to.
