Silmar and pressure?

Been trying to cast some pics. in clear silmar and not getting a good bond on the ends of the tubes(looks like air bubbles),question is would pressure help out any to stop the voids,Thanks Bill.

Pressure may help. It is mostly used to keep air bubbles out. It sounds more like your problems lie in adhision of the resin to the photos.

Describe your method. Let's see what we can come up with.
 
Scott,I think that is the problem also,all i do is put the pic.avery lable 8253 on the tube,I use cork in the end of the tube,then pour the silmar 41 over the snug fitting tube for casting,the only place it is not bonding good is out on the ends,Thanks for the reply.
 
Hmmm.... I use 8253s for my label casting too. I have not had that problem with PR. How many drops of mekp/oz. are you using?

I go with 3 drops/oz. in warmer weather and 4 drops/oz. when it is cold (below 50). I let all of my pours sit overnight.

You may want to try "painting" some resin on the ends before pouring.

If you can, snap a pic or two and post them so we can see exactly what it looks like.

Let me know how they turn out.
 
Scott,the pressure worked like a charm,hav'nt figured out the new method of posting pics. yet,thanks for the info.
