Forces the sale of my wonderful car... I will miss it. I will forever be a fan of the older BMW's and when business picks up again... I might just have to get another one ;)

Anyone else around here have an older BMW (e28, e30, e32, e34)?

Just so you don't feel alone-----we had to sell our boat a couple months ago.
The only real toy we had and we live next to a lake. But you got to keep a roof over your head.
Oh ----the boat was not near as sharp as your car.

Its a bummer =(
But yes, like you said, I am not in danger of starving, I owe no money to anyone, and even though I am selling, it was not a foolish buy. Just not one that would be the wisest to keep at this time. Esp. consider I would like to get married in the not-too-distant future =)

And with the car - I also was able to learn a LOT about how vehicles work and how to maintain them. Did pretty much every preventative maintenance item possible on it because I thought I would be keeping it forever!

Thanks for commiserating ;)

Well, just over a week after I posted it on Craigslist, it sold. Happy to have the extra money but sad to see it go! I am very thankful, however, that it sold so quickly in this market, and that I did not even lose money in its ownership and maintenance =)

Hey Joel,

You said you'd like to get married in the not so distant future... you have any idears for a woman or are you just hopeful :?)

Joel,
I sold a car once because I wanted to get married.... actually I did get married and the car wasn't practical for a family man... she already had a little girl and the car was a 1965 Corvette Stingray convertible... no room for the baby. Unfortunately, the marriage didn't last and today the car would be worth roughly $25K.

Haha.. yes, there is a specific person =) Bruce (bfifer) and his wife have met her.

Sorry about your ride Joel ,but glad you made out ok. Werent you starting your own sprinkler company before you dissapeared awhile back?

Yes, and I did. And it went very well up until the initial bailout talk where I lost all of my fall customers (the ones who can afford irrigation, but barely).

E34 BMW's don't have the collector's value your Stingray does ;) In fact, I bought that car for $2,650. Worth every penny and then some. But I digress...
