Can anyone tell me about how to order shredded money. I think it will come from the U.S. Mint ? What size and how much will it cost? I did a post search here at the forum but no luck. I have read several post on casting money in blanks. When you are turning it and the paper comes through how do you get a smooth finish?. Thanks for your help Don:confused:

Have you google searched? I believe there are several places that you get get small bags of shredded money online. As far as a smooth finish, just finish with CA.

shredded money

I ordered two of the large bears there money has a larger shred than the gov. I think it will look better and show up more. I was a little suprised at the cost of the gov price for the 5 lb bag being 45.00 they just never give up always wanting more and more.

Trust me those bears have the same money you get from the gov. BEP and you don't get near as much the BEST deal is the BEP the 5 lb bag for $45.00 shipping is free you are not going to do better than that. It is peices of money now the traditional long shreds are a thing of the past.

Ok, so a random suggestion, could't you overlap several bills on a page and color copy them on both sides, shred it, and use that? Or is it that important to have real money?

I know that when I do mine I give a little baggie with every blank. It is VERY difficult to get it rite. You can tell with the real stuff next to it. But then again I have over 40 years in the printing industry.

Oh and bye the way try and copy one of the new bills 5,10, 20 & 50 no copier made after 2002 will do it. I know for a fact that H.P. wont so it's not quite as easy as that.

So, does that make my two 5lb bags of traditional long shreds more valuable?:biggrin:How long before they become antique traditional long shreds? I really like both types. They each have their own unique look.
Do a good turn daily!
