Victor -

I haven't received this specific one recently, but get bombarded by similar ones every day. I firmly believe you can chalk this one up as BS.

Matthew

don't do it it's SPAM trying to get your info. I got the same one a little over a month ago and gee look I'm still on line and sending and receiving email and everything else.

Here's an easy rule to live by:

Anytime anyone ever contacts you about anything, whether it is your ISP/mail-provider/bank/financial institution/IRS/whatever... They already have all your info and they are contacting you so make them prove their identity TO YOU by providing you the information they should have. If they say/write "to verify I have the right person please provide me with ...." then simply hang-up/delete the message because they are trying to GET your information which proves that they aren't who they say they are.

I agree with everyone else, forward this to the Yahoo admins so they can hunt these SOBs down. If they get lucky and catch them then we will have a better world.

Victor, no disrespect intended but if this was a direct copy and past of the actual message you received, then you should not have even needed to ask here. This message is so full of grammer and spelling errors that it in no way came from a company such as Yahoo. Here are the ones that jump out at me:

Yahoo! is shuting down all Unverified/Unused account (should be plural) within 48hours (should have a space) due to the conjestion (spelling) of all unsued (spelling) email account (plural needed), Verify Your (incorrect capitalization) account now by filling out all below informations (spelling) ,Failure to do this your Yahoo! email account would be deactivated without any further notice. (completely messed up grammar)

This is known as a Phishing attempt. Just imagine the amount of info you can gather if just 1% of the people who receive this reply.

Essentially never click a link in an Email. It could take you any where, and you have no idea where it could take you. It is very easy to make a fake sight look exactly like the real thing. If you think the email is legit, type the link in your browser manually. Don't click it.

Here phishy, phishy, phishy. I got a nice shiney little hook to put in your mouth and reel you in:)

AND, the odds of winning the Irish Sweepstakes without entering are EXACTLY the same as wining the Mega Millions Lottery WITHOUT buying a ticket.

You probably didn't have real rich relatives that you didn't know living in other countries that forgot to make arrangements for the money they worked a lifetime to accumulate, either.

I think I need to go to Nigeria. Apparently I'm the last remaining relative of some dead person and I have 2.5 million american dollars awaiting my arrival...:cool::cool:

Oopps I was supposed to keep it to myself. Oh well. My bad...

Didn't really read it just looked at it and figured it was BS.Did not notice all the bad grammar, and would not have noticed as much as you Curtis(my spelling stinks as the members must know already). Thanks,Victor

Never ever ever respond to any e-mail that asks for your password. No legitimate company is going to ask you to do that.

The date format tends t be a give away also. dd/mm/yyyy is typically used outside the US.
