I've sent all my packages to Canada via USPS Global Priority. It's very reasonable and has a good track record of getting there. You can go to the website usps.com and get a quote. UPS and FedEx is too expensive. You can go to the PO and get in the needed info to do things correctly. Even though you don't need it, supposedly, fill out a customs declaration, also.

I recently sent two pens to Calgary, and the cost was slightly more than priority mail, as I recall--possibly 50%, but definitely no more than that. Requires an international envelope rather than std. priority envelope. Other than that, no tricks or anything. Check on the USPS website, and you'll find all the info you need, or your local PO will be happy to advise you. Good luck!
