I appologise if this has already been discusssed. I recently saw an ad for some .5mm flexable material for use in segmemting. I think it was from a lutherier's web site but not positive. The advantage to this produce was it can go around corners without cracking like veneer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Dale

What is suppose to be? It is a veneer or a shell product? are you looking to bend it radially or longitudely?

hey Dale,
Maybe this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N4YA6ZS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_7?smid=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&psc=1
Or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V3ZDXGE/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_8?smid=AA66CXXFX2BZ3&psc=1

Both are closer to a full 1mm thick, and i've not worked with either. Just have them in my "save for later" part of the cart. Had to have been an earlier discussion on this site!!
Stay well...

I use a lot of this. This isnt going to go around corners without breaking it can bend some though, not much more than veneer will.

longitudely I think JT. I can only bend veneer one way. Not sure what you mean by "shell product"? The product I saw was .5mm or about .020" I'm trying to fill some saw kerf and the veneer keeps breaking because of how tight the curve is. I have soaked the wood veneer but it's time consuming.

Thanks Earl, I have some of the product you suggested and that's not what I'm looking for. The vulcanized product is very stiff.
I enjoyed the meetup last week. Good Time!

If you could post a photo of what you are trying to do may help us. Shell product I was talking about abalone purfling strips. Acrylics can bend 180 degrees. Wood veneers will splinter past 90 degrees.

For like a trim ring You can buy some veneers .020 and thicker and have the sheet of veneers laser cut into washers for whatever size you want.
For something wider its like making spacers and washers and stacking everything on the brass pen tube
