Anyone have any examples of a segmented Carbon fiber blank?
I have a small piece of 3/8" tube CF blank left over about 1.5" long or so. It's not long enough for a diva but I think I could make a nice segmented blank with it.
My thought was to use it as the starting piece of a scallop segment with wood and aluminum added on.. Drill it through with a bit that fits the ID of the CF tube then finish drill the wood end to 3/8.. tube the wood end and strengthen the join with some 11/32 brass tubing epoxied inside.
The segment would have to be mid body or so..
I think putting the CF on the grip end would look good.
It's a bit small to cut on the chop saw but I think I can handle it on my miter box with a razor saw or with the band saw if I made a sled.
