Seems like a dumb question but....

I will be casting some blanks this weekend and have decided to try to preheat my resin saver molds. I have not tried this so far. If I am using vaseline and mineral spirits for the releasing agent how hot is too hot? Vaseline melts just above body temp so if I get the mold hotter than that I would assume my releasing agent would just melt into a puddle at the bottom or run out if I put it upside down. Will enough vaseline stay in the mold to work as intended? Thanks for any help!

You do not need a releasing agent on those molds. Your blanks should/will pop right out.

They will "pop" out but I believe that Charlie still recommends the use of a release agent to extend the mold life.

As for the original post, why preheat your molds? I warm the resin before pouring and haven't had issues. What problem are you trying to solve?

I use a sonic jewelry cleaner with heat. I have had issues with shrinkage at times so I thought it may be due to the mold being colder than the resin. Maybe I will just leave them in the sun a while before I pour my resin.
