I was in the shop tidying up, and thought I'd use the air compressor to blow some dust around! :)

I put the quick connect into the compressor after it had charged up, but didn't quite seat it down properly...the danged thing went flying off and missed my eye by a hair...i felt the breeze as it went by!

I ALWAYS wear glasses when doing anything involving power tools, but this was the one time I didn't...I had no idea that it could shoot out like that!

Scared the pants off of me!

I'll take this opportunity to remind the members here not to use compressed air to blow off dust from their body. This is a dangerous practise that can lead to skin poisoning. Be safe, "brush" away dust from your skin, DO NOT blow it off using your compressor.

Good point about not using air to clean yourself up. it can actually push all sorts of things through your skin. not to mention what it can do to all the little openings you already have like tear ducks, pours in your skin. a blast of air up your nose can actually cause ear infections and on and on. Good thing your close call lead you to discover it was way over pressured, this can be dangerous depending on what tool you connect it to. some tools could actually explode at to high of a pressure. I'm thinking the cheap HF type tools.
