Thanks, I have the free version of that bt it doesn't go down to the house level. I agree it is fun, get too close & it is not a good focus.

Would you mind explaining what you mean by "get down to the house level"? When I use Google Maps(Satellite), I am definitely able to see my house and I can determine what vehicles are parked out front.

I tried that also, it doesn't get to house level in the area that I live. How's that for a commentary on my city. [:D] Closest I can get is a general road map but nothing on satellite

I don't have a link but I am amazed. I used the geo-code you provided and the level of detail is so much different than what I can get. Maybe because I live in the middle of nowhere, big brother doesn't mind if we look at the sagebrush. Maybe the satellite passes directly overhead. Good luck.

Another cool site is www.zillow.com That gives the prices paid for houses as posted in county records overlaid on a map. There is also a Bird's Eye View option that gets right down to house level, and sees houses at an oblique angle from the North, South, East, and West. It is very impressive with about 1 foot resolution. I imagine that option doesn't work for all areas though.

Bill,

My home town in N. MS did not have house level when I downloadedGoogle Earth last summer. Sometimes this past fall it was upgraded to house level. Also last summer as I tried to look at the MS Gulf Coast, much of that was not on the house level, but that was also upgraded sometimes in the fall of '06. Different sections get upgraded from time to time. My home in Toyota, JPN is the same quality as my MS home. However even thought I can see specific trees and even large bushes and even a hole where a tree was last spring, it is not as high a resolution as some places where I can see "people".

Mountainous areas are upgraded in quality - slower than more flat areas.

Zillow would be my recommendation, too. There are portions of the country where satellite coverage is prohibited, so you may not be able to see everythig.
