Sanding sealer and friction polish?

Has anyone had experience with using Mylands sanding sealer and a friciton polish on wood blanks? Durability over time? TIA.

Friction polish was one of the "go to" finishes prior to CA. They look great when done but never hold up under normal use, dulling and wearing off. I used Mylands for a while in the beginning.
