My Son is going to be in McAllen Texas next week and has been invited on a fishing trip out of Padre Island. What does he need in the way of a fishing license? In Alaska you have to purchase a "Non Resident" license, is it the same for Texas? Man I'm envious, 80 degrees there, 8 degrees here!

Thanks

Roy,

Not sure about fishing permit requirements but I know he can get one at Walmart or so.

I am at Edinburg and it is just a stone throw away from McAllen. Ask him too if he can pass by...maybe I can send you some local wood. ;)

Thanks for the offer, Dario, I appreciate it. He will be a guest of others, so I think his agenda is pretty full. He works for a Fishing Charter buisness from Texas that also Charters Alaskan trips. They invited him to come South for a couple of weeks and try his luck on the Gulf. I may never se him again. lol

This is him with a Red Snapper caught in the Gulf of Alaska.

I promise you if he works for a fishing outfitter from Texas, they will get him headed in the right direction for his license. Hope he enjoys his visit and I would think he will be back to Alaska. I have fished both places and my ideal situation would be spending the summer in Alaska and the winter in South Padre.

Roy,the last time I was down there fishing they sold a 1 day and 3 day fishing permits but I'm from Texas so I don't know about out of state things,I would show the 100 pound tarpin I caught but don't want to make all the fishermen on here jealous[8D]
