So, Jeff as I see it, and as the aforementioned rules state..........If, and only if you post a pen in the contest, you can trash talk. Now normally, I would never call anyone's attention to their shortcomings, but rules are rules and I don't see a posting of a pen, so therefore as a Texas delegate, I ask the Head Rulemaker, in this case, Cav to disqualify you on the grounds of inappropriate trash talking, prior to pen posting!! I would like to call on all my fellow penturners to study the rules and come along side me in this fight of injustice. Head Rulemaker..... I yield the floor!!

I think Neil meant that he was going to write you a tutorial on the most important thing!! :biggrin::biggrin:

As to disqualifying the damn Yankee from Michigan, since he is supplying the grand prize, and since he did not trash talk on the official contest thread, well draw your own conclusions! :):rolleyes::)

I think that's a good move. You wouldn't want to get into the contest and then find out that
 
Really though, it's not about winning. It's about having fun while inspiring people with new idea's. I doubt I even make the top 5, but I guarantee I will show you something you never saw before, and so will several others. In the end, we all win.

It may be that the actual prize winners do have a lot of toys. You might also be surprised that some do not. The best tool you own is your brain. Your brain has the idea, then it has to figure out how to accomplish it with what is available to you. So you have to improvise, create your own tooling or jigs, or go outside the shop and visit another turner that has the tools and knowledge to help you with your quest. If that has to happen, then so be it, as that is a whole new benefit of the contest, where you might meet new friends, and learn new things from another turner that helped you that will brighten your own future. It all spins positive. Heck..look at a few threads, you see a few helping others with some free ammo. That's what it's all about.

I do wish my popcorn would pop..it's really annoying me!
