Gotta have my son's 6 year old Beagle put down in the A.M. Congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and not eaten anything in over a week. Vet says its time cause she's not responding to treatment, but he's not the one who has to explain it to my 14 year old son who raised her from a pup.
So would appreciate a thought and prayer or 2 from this extended family.
( Guess its time to find out how well I bounce )

Sorry to hear it Ron. We just put down our dog a week before christmas(she was sixteen) and my wife, myself, and my daughter were with her when it was done. My daughter also had her 14 year old cat she had since she was six go missing about two weeks before we had to put Lady down. Our thoughts and condolense to you.

We feel for you Ron. We lost our beagle last year (one year on mothers day[V])... Its tough. She was 10 and still tough. We now have a 'weiner dog', but still miss the beagle some days.

A sad task, but one that our pets depend on us to do to ease their suffering. She will be waiting over the Rainbow Bridge.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We had to explain to our 15 year old when we had to put our Husky down 4 years ago. Not easy; but as was said, they depend upon us and will be waiting on the other side for us.

It's very tough!:(We had 3 Bassett Hounds that had been in our family for over 10 years. We lost all 3 within 1 year. It leaves a very big hole in the family but they depend on us to ease their suffering.
Our prayers are with you and I do believe we will see them again.

I'm sorry to hear this and I know how you feel having to have my boxer put down the end of last month. It's never easy to lose a member of the family but you also have to remember that when her quality of life has deteriorated it is better that you let her go without pain.

If you need someone to talk to I'm here.

Here are a couple of very good links that may be of some help.

Sorry for your family's loss. We had to put my aging gsd down a year ago (lung cancer, go figure). It still hurts to think about.

Sorry to hear about your difficult time. We had to do this to our Beagle of 16 yrs. last month. I still turn around and expect him to be on my heels.
My thoughts will be with you and your family.
