Rose Bush Pen

My neighbor took down and old rose bush that I know has reached six feet in the past, the stems at the bottom I noticed were about 1 inch in diameter so I thought I would try turning it since I am always looking for a new and interesting wood to try. The wood was not quite as colorful as others I have done but it did have a nice color on its own. I put it on my website (millstreamareaproducts.comand I hope it will at least generate some interesting looks.

For fairly plain Rose bush timber, that's not a bad looking pen. I think I would have gifted it to my neighbor.

You should get a bit more grain figure if you can dig out the top 6 inches of the root .
